First of all VOTD.org's Verse of the Day has been faithfully broadcasting God's Word to thousands of subscribers since 1993. This could possible be the internet's first and oldest public Verse of the Day service!
Another unique thing is the fact that this Verse of the Day is not "auto-generated". Every weekday, a verse is selected from a morning devotion, quiet time or something the Lord has prompted through situations, conversations or prayer. It's really a personal verse shared with everyone! It has been that way since the beginning.
Verse of the Day's publisher prays that the daily bible verse will impact you as it impacts him and the thousands of others that subscribe each day, and that it will inspire you to spend more time with God and His Word.

A “lawyer” asked Jesus a question to test Him:
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
Matthew 22:34-40
