The VOTD Story (history)
Sharing God’s Word daily since 1993
The Verse of the Day Started February 5th 1993 at Aldus Corporation (Now Adobe) in Seattle Washington as an internally distributed daily mail. The original distribution sent by Dave Perkins was to only 16 recipients. VOTD grew tremendously over the years and now appears to be the longest running bible verse via email list. VOTD is still freely distributed to thousands of subscribers all over the world.
The unique thing about VOTD is that it’s not “auto-generated” Every weekday, a verse is selected from a morning devotion, quiet time or something the Lord has prompted through situations, conversations or prayer.
It’s really a personal verse that is shared with everyone. We pray that the daily VOTD will inspire you to spend time with God and His Word. May it impact you as it impacts us and so many others who subscribe!
