Ephesians 4:25-30

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.

“Be angry, and do not sin” do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.

Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Romans 2:21-24

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Paul said:

You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself?

You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal?

You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery?

You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law?

For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you…”

Have a warm Monday!

Note: As I always do, I check for previous uses of the verse I decide on each day to make sure that they don’t repeat too often. I found that the verse on my heart this morning was used about a year and a half ago, and I discovered that I must have been in a similar place spiritually because I wrote an amazingly appropriate commentary that morning. It really blessed and encouraged me. I want to provide a link in hopes that it will bless someone else as well: http://votd.org/2007/04/03/romans-221-24/
