1 John 1:5-7

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

1st John 4:9-10

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (”payer of the price”) for our sins.

1st John 4:9-10
May we not forget love this CHRISTmas season.

James 1:13-14

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge, And he sins who hastens with his feet.

Ecclesiastes 5:4-6

Friday, October 16th, 2009

When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it; For He has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you have vowed-Better not to vow than to vow and not pay.

Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error. Why should God be angry at your excuse and destroy the work of your hands?

Matthew 18:21-22

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Peter asked:

“…Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven…”

Matthew 18:21-22

Note: The Rabbinical “legal” limit for forgiving someone who was caught in sin was 3 times. Three strikes and you are out! Peter attempts to sound gracious (superior?) by saying 7 times, Jesus says 70 x 7 which is 490, but He is actually implying that we are to multiply as needed… there is no limit on forgiving. After all, God doesn’t have one – 1st John 1:9!! ~George

Romans 6:11-13

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Likewise [like Christ] you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

Ephesians 4:25-30

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.

“Be angry, and do not sin” do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.

Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Ephesians 4:25-30

2 Corinthians 5:18-20

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Paul says:

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

A woman walks in off the street, pours expensive perfume on Jesus’ feet, and begins to kiss them and rub the perfume on them. Jesus comments:

“…Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
