[Samuel was impressed with Jesse’s son as a candidate for the next king]

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him.

For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

  1. Sharman Says:

While watching the man I would later marry, I was judging him, inwardly, by his appearance. That is when the Lord spoke this verse to me. This was the man God chose for me to marry based on his heart, not his appearance. And we have just celebrated our 25th year anniversary!

…what a delightful application of this verse! Congrats - sounds like 25 blissful years!

for what its worth I was prompted to use this one today because of the campaigning going on nationally and locally. Regardless of political bent and affiliation this verse seems to be what Christians need to hear!!

… I’ll comment no further than that. :-)
