Daniel 2:30

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Daniel is about to interpret Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, but first says:

“…this secret has not been revealed to me because I have more wisdom than anyone living, but for our sakes who make known the interpretation to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your heart.”

Daniel 2:30
May you be crowned with righteousness today!

Psalm 122:6-7

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

“May they prosper who love you.

Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.”

Psalm 122:6-7

Today we might want to pray parts of Psalm 83 for Israel however…

Jude 1:20

Friday, December 26th, 2008

Last Sunday my Christmas message was centered on the spirit of Christmas. Its the most miraculous and wonderful thing that happens to mankind every year, slowly building up for months but then abruptly ending during the evening hours of December 25th! Sometimes it leaves immediately after the last gift is opened!

The admonition in the message was to let the Spirit of God drive you instead – and not just during the holiday season, but always!

Jude tells us:

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Jude 1:20
Have a merry post-Christmas season!
I’ll be taking the beginning of the week off as I did last week, resuming next Friday January 2nd.

Proverbs 26:13-16

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

The lazy man says, “There is a lion in the road! A
fierce lion is in the streets!”

As a door turns on its hinges, So does the lazy man on
his bed.

The lazy man buries his hand in the bowl; It
wearies him to bring it back to his mouth.

The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes Than seven
men who can answer sensibly.

Romans 2:21-24

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Paul said:

You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself?

You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal?

You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery?

You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law?

For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you…”

Romans 2:21-24
Have a warm Monday!

Note: As I always do, I check for previous uses of the verse I decide on each day to make sure that they don’t repeat too often. I found that the verse on my heart this morning was used about a year and a half ago, and I discovered that I must have been in a similar place spiritually because I wrote an amazingly appropriate commentary that morning. It really blessed and encouraged me. I want to provide a link in hopes that it will bless someone else as well: http://votd.org/2007/04/03/romans-221-24/

Hebrews 13:17

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account.

Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

Friday 13th Verses

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Friday, June 13, 2008

I’ve missed three days of VOTD due to a heavy workload. Today’s three verses not only make up for that, but they present three facts that should help us know that Friday the 13th has no relevance to, or power over believers!

~

…and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Hebrews 5:12-14

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.

But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Isaiah 48:10 – Triple Play :-)

Monday, March 24th, 2008

God says:

“Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver;
I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.”

Isaiah 48:10

Reading this verse this morning immediately made me think of this one:

“The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, But the LORD tests the hearts.”

Proverbs 17:3

My thoughts this morning are on how the Lord tests our hearts, but does so through the afflictions we suffer – which brings to mind what James said:

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”

Luke 24:44-47

Friday, March 21st, 2008

He [Jesus] said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”

Then He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem…”
