Excellent Comment! Prayer IS a tool by which we care for one another.

This morning I was reading Ephesians 4 (from which I think I'll use a verse for today's VOTD) and wouldnt you know - verses 25-32 also speak to your point!

I remember a time when we were praying for one another in our church, but our prayers had a tendency to focus on the negative or faults of the person we were praying for. So it was decided that we would try to focus on what God had given the bother and sister we were praying for, instead of his faults. So if we see that someone is spreading the gospel, we would pray that God would increase this gift; if its hospitality then we would pray that God grant this person with all he needs to fulfill his role, etc. It turns out that this way of praying makes us closer to one another and it binds us together in the cause of Christ. A Church that prays this way will be united, selfless and intimate.
